it will but it is not as effective as a 22-250or a 204 ruger. But that is just my personal opinion

better get real close. i’ve made the mistake of lunging coyotes with .223 fmjs and he ran too far for a recovery. resilient little bastards

You can use a butterknife if you want. Just about anything will work if it’s a perfectly placed headshot. I wouldn’t count on a perfect shot though when it comes to coyotes, they are tricky little suckers. Have fun, good luck.
